I am excited to introduce personalized hiking and photography tours in the Canadian Rockies - Summer 2017. If you’re looking to experience the natural beauty of Canada, work on your photography skills and capture some moments along the way – let me guide you to some of my favorite places. Actually, let me take you to some of these places!

Enjoy the views from the comfort of a private car as I drive you through some breathtaking scenery. I much prefer this option to taking a bus or organized tour as we are able to stop along the way whenever we feel necessary. Often we can see wildlife just off the side of the road, or perhaps something else catches your eye that warrants a stop. Sample itineraries are below, but are highly flexible depending on my client’s requests. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or special requests. I will be in touch shortly after booking to ensure you receive a real trip of your own.

The Classic

Level: Beginner to Intermediate

An action packed 3 days sees us at some of the most iconic places in all of Canada, as well as a couple stops off the beaten track.

Day 1: Depart Calgary at 8am through the foothills of the Rockies. We make our first stop before entering Banff National Park in Kananaskis Country. We will arrive at the Spray Lakes at approximately 10am. From here we will head up Mount Sparrowhawk for a 3-4hr hike depending on your preference. Within 30 minutes we will have beautiful panorama views of the Spray Lakes and Kananaskis. (There is also an option to relax lakeside for those who don’t feel up for the selected hike.) After completing the hike we will continue on to Banff. Arrival time at the hotel, hostel, or campsite of your choosing is 3-4pm. Take your time to check-in, relax, explore the idyllic town, and grab a bite to eat before we set up for sunset photos at Vermillion Lakes - only minutes outside of Banff. Sunset is approximately 9:45pm in July.

Sparrowhawk Sunset

Day 2:

On the off chance the previous evenings weather didn’t co-operate you have the option of a sunrise shoot at Vermillion lakes in the morning (~5:50am). After an 11am check-out we will have another 2hrs to grab lunch and review the pictures so far during a Photoshop Basics Workshop. Next, we are off to perhaps one of the most visited spots in the Rocky Mountains, Lake Louise. We will check in to our accommodation/campsite in the area and visit Lake Louise around 3 o’clock. After dinner we will head north up Icefields Parkway to watch sunset over Peyto Lake.

Day 3:

Saving the best for last, we will have an early start around 4:30am and drive the ~10km from Lake Louise to Moraine Lake for sunrise. In any conditions, this lake is spectacular. Finally, we will depart Moraine Lake, and depending on your schedule, we will either add a 2-3hr hike near Moraine Lake (Eiffel Lakes hike or similar), or we can depart for your final destination (Lake Louise, Banff, Canmore, or Calgary).
